Events terrace
The Events terrace is a terrace displaying upcoming and past events for the page, with a month calendar beside the list.

This article covers the terrace. For iCal and Google Calendar sources, refresh timing, and public calendar requirements, see Calendars and events.
Events are not stored on the terrace. They are event posts and calendar sources for the page. Toggling the terrace off hides the display only.
A page contains at most one Events terrace.
Turning the terrace on and off
- Click the + (Add content) button in the admin menu.
- Click Terrace Menu.
- Toggle Events on.
Toggling the terrace off hides it and retains its heading. Events and calendar sources are unchanged. The pencil menu on the terrace contains a second control for this, Turn Off Events Terrace.
The pencil menu
| Item | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Add Event | Opens the event editor for a new event post |
| Add Calendar | Opens the add-calendar source flow for an iCal feed |
| Move Up and Move Down | Move the terrace. Disabled at the top and bottom of the page |
| Turn Off Events Terrace | Hides the terrace |
Heading
The heading is edited in place. Click it, type, and press Enter to save or Escape to cancel. The heading holds 250 characters.
A terrace whose heading has never been set displays the word Events. A heading saved as an empty field is not displayed to visitors. Editors continue to see the Add Title placeholder in its position.
Layout
- Desktop: a scrollable list of events on the left and a month calendar on the right. The calendar has previous and next month controls.
- Mobile: the side calendar is not displayed. A compact month calendar sits above the event list. Tapping a date scrolls the list to that date.
The terrace opens on the current calendar month. Changing the month reloads events for that range. There is no Load More control; month navigation sets the range.
Clicking an event opens a detail window with the title, date, time, location, and a map when a location is set.

Recurring events from a calendar feed appear as one entry per occurrence in the range. See Calendars and events.
Adding events and calendars
Add Event creates an event post for the page. Title is required. Location and date are optional.
Add Calendar connects an iCal feed. The same flow is available from Manage Content Sources. Details are in Calendars and events.
Constraints
- One Events terrace per page.
- The terrace can be moved with Move Up and Move Down, but not above the Hero Banner or below the Map.
- The Event block on a Grid page shows upcoming events only. The Events terrace and the Calendar page use a navigable month range that includes past dates in range.
FAQ
- "I turned the Events terrace off and back on. Where did the events go?" Events are not stored on the terrace. They remain as posts and calendar sources. Turn the terrace on to display them again.
- "Why does the Events terrace show past events when our Event block does not?" The Event block lists upcoming events only. The Events terrace follows the selected month, including past days in that month.
- "How do I connect a Google Calendar?" Use Add Calendar on the terrace, or Manage Content Sources. The calendar must be public with an iCal address. See Calendars and events.
- "Changes on the calendar are not showing." Open the source and click Refresh Feed, or wait for the hourly refresh. See Calendars and events.
