ADA Compliance: Color Choices

The appearance settings within site configurations provide ADA color contrast validators. These validators ensure your website’s color scheme conforms to current WCAG 2.0 AA guidelines. This standard is important for visually-impaired users to be able to discern font color from background color.

The quickest and easiest way to become compliant is to insert your desired colors, then click lighten or darken until you see that the color choice passes the contrast requirements as outlined by WCAG 2.0 AA.

Notice the lighten and darken buttons below each color.

The Alerts setting also allows color management. Be sure to select a passing color for your alerts. The font color is compared to the background color.

Be sure to click the save button in the bottom right after managing colors in the appearance setting.
