Adding a Links block
- Click the + (Add content) button in the admin menu.
- Click Links.
- Enter a Title, add at least one link, then click Add Block.
The editor heading is Add content, with the chip a Links Block.
Editing
Click the pencil on the block (Click to edit). Save Changes keeps the edits. Cancel discards them. Delete removes the block.
Title is required. Placeholder: Quick Links.
Adding links and folders
Add New Link and Add New folder appear under the title.
Add New Link asks What type of link do you want to add?
| Choice | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Link to an external page | Add the link name and website address which opens a new tab. Fields: Title, Url, Icon |
| Link to an existing page | Add a link by selecting a previously created page from a dropdown menu. Fields: Title, Select Page, Icon, Stay in Site |
Add New folder opens a window headed Folder with a Title field. Add Folder saves it.
Drag rows to reorder. Deleting asks Are you sure you want to do that?
The block must contain at least one link.
Visitor behavior
Folders open by default and toggle closed when clicked. External links open in a new tab. Links to pages on your site open in the same tab. Stay in Site keeps the visitor on the current site's address while opening another page's content.
On phones, Expand appears when the list does not fit the block height.
Constraints
- Folders can hold links and can nest under other folders in this block.
- A Links block with no links cannot be saved.
FAQ
- "Why can I not save the block?" Add a Title and at least one link.
- "Are these the same as Shortcuts on a terrace page?" No. Shortcuts are a terrace type. This Links block is for Grid pages.
- "What does Stay in Site do?" When it is on, the visitor stays on the current site's address while the selected page loads.
