Notifications are so powerful that they have their own help site! Click here to visit.

The SchoolBlocks notification feature offers multiple outbound options to ensure your messages are seen. Use this tool to schedule posts for the future that appear on your website, in email, as a notification on the SchoolBlocks app or as SMS and even on your Facebook feed.

Your home page as well as any sub-pages, groups or departments can be setup to have their own audiences. This enables you to identify recipients when you choose email or phone notifications options.

If you choose to send a notification with email and/or phone alerts, you'll have to select your audience. For more on audiences, view this help page.

User Types

  • Staff & Students: Staff and students can be synced using a group or OU. This can be done at the district, school or even department or group level.
  • Parents: It's a bit tricky but there is a way to include your parents from your student information system!
    • Steps to make it happen:
      • Create an Active Directory group or OU for parents. Feel free to create a grade specific group to give more granularity to notification creators. Limit this group to zero permissions.
      • Include the group(s) in your sync with Google or Microsoft and again give it no permissions or access to any tools. Then, when you seek to connect parents, there will be a group or OU for them as an option in SchoolBlocks!
    • To connect parents with their students, we will be releasing an automated import solution in the spring of 2024.
